Homemade spiced apple butter with maple syrup is such a wonderful way to preserve apples!

Add cored apple slices, apple cider, & ginger to a pot & bring to a boil over medium-high heat. 

Reduce heat & boil, stirring occasionally, until apples are soft.

Use an immersion blender to puree until smooth.

Stir in maple syrup, spices, & salt. Bring back to a boil before Reducing heat to low, & cooking until mixture thickens.

If canning, gather pint jars & the canning equipment you'll need.

Prepare your jars in your water bath canner.

Fill jars leaving 1/4" headspace, top with a 2 part lid, & process in your canner for 10 minutes.

Enjoy your apple butter on toast or as a filling to pastries!
