Elderberry Popsicles for Immune Support

Elderberry Popsicles Recipe

This recipe for elderberry popsicles couldn’t be easier!

The first thing you will need is elderberry syrup. Homemade elderberry syrup is always best, especially when made with foraged elderberries, but store-bought will work as well.

If you use store-bought try to get one that is made with real honey rather than sugar, like this one from Honey Gardens.

Make the Elderberry Ice Pops

Put 1 tablespoon of elderberry syrup into each popsicle mold.

I like to use a stainless steel popsicle mold.

Then fill the popsicle molds with juice. I used organic apple juice, but feel free to use whatever juice you like. Orange, tart cherry or pomegranate juice would all work well.

Sugar-free juice is the best option, and fresh squeezed is even better!

Give the elderberry syrup and juice mixture a little swirl with a popsicle stick to combine, then add the popsicle sticks to the top of the mold.

Put the popsicle molds into the freezer and freeze for several hours or until frozen solid.

When you are ready to serve the popsicles, run some cold water on the popsicle mold to loosen it up and remove it.

How to Use Elderberry Popsicles

These elderberry ice pops are great to have on hand during times of illness. I always make sure to have some made up in the freezer ahead of time so that we are prepared.

The coolness of the popsicle is soothing for a sore throat or cough. It is also perfect for those who need to keep their fluids up after a bout of sickness.

One or two popsicles is equal to one dose of elderberry syrup for an adult, so two can be taken per day as needed.

For a child, one elderberry popsicle per day during times of illness is perfect. Kids love them!

Ingredients
